Terms of service

Effective 1 November 2026

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and KwikQA ("we") covering the KwikQA website, hosted service, and paid plans (the "service"). By signing in or using the service you accept them. If you use KwikQA for an organization, you confirm that you may accept these terms for it, and "you" includes it. The KwikQA command-line tool is licensed under the end user license agreement in its npm package (the LICENSE file); these terms apply alongside it, and that agreement governs the tool if the two conflict. The privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.

2. Accounts

You sign in with a GitHub account and must be at least 18. Each account is for one person. Keep your CLI and CI tokens confidential: you are responsible for activity under them. Revoke a token from the dashboard as soon as you think it is exposed, and tell us at security@kwikqa.com if you think your account was misused.

3. Subscriptions and billing

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the merchant of record for all our orders: it processes payments, charges any applicable sales tax or VAT, issues invoices, and pays refunds. Paddle's buyer terms apply to your purchase.

  • Paid plans are subscriptions billed in advance, monthly or yearly, and renew automatically until you cancel. Per-seat plans are billed for every seat, with a minimum of three.
  • You can change plans, seats, or billing period, or cancel, at any time from Billing in your dashboard. You see what you'll be charged or refunded before you confirm.
  • If a renewal payment fails, Paddle retries it and your plan stays active meanwhile. If Paddle can't collect it, the subscription ends and your account returns to the Free plan.
  • Usage limits reset at 00:00 UTC on the first day of each calendar month. Unused analyses and fixes don't carry over. A request that the model doesn't answer isn't counted.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice. A change applies from your next billing period after the notice ends, and you can cancel before then.

4. Cancellation and refunds

Refunds follow our refund policy. In short:

  • Within 14 days of your first payment for a plan, monthly or annual, cancelling refunds that payment in full, and paid access stops at once. This full refund is given once in any 12 months; after one, a new plan's first payment is refunded as below.
  • After that, an annual plan is refunded for its unused months: each month that has started is charged at the monthly price, and the plan ends at once.
  • After that, a monthly plan isn't refunded; it stays active until the end of the month you paid for.

Deleting your account cancels your subscription and refunds it in the same way. When a plan ends, your account returns to the Free plan.

5. Usage limits and fair use

Each plan includes the monthly limits shown on the pricing page. Don't try to get around them, for example by sharing one account among several people, creating accounts to get more free usage, or changing the command-line tool so that it doesn't report usage on bring-your-own-key plans.

6. Team plans

On Team and BYOK Team plans, the account that pays (the owner) invites people by GitHub username, and each person who accepts takes a seat and shares the plan's monthly limits. The owner is responsible for the plan and its payments, and can see how many analyses and fixes each member used through the plan. Members can leave at any time, and the owner can remove them. If the owner turns on team insights, each member's runs share test names and fix outcomes with everyone on the team.

7. Your content

You keep all rights in your code, test reports, and evidence, and in the diagnoses and changes the service produces for you. You allow us to process the evidence packets you approve only to provide the service: to check and count each request and to forward it, unchanged, to OpenRouter and the AI model named in its preview, which receive it under zero data retention as the privacy policy describes. We don't store it. You are responsible for making sure that what you approve sending doesn't include data you aren't allowed to share, such as other people's personal data or secrets that redaction didn't recognize.

8. AI output

Diagnoses and repair proposals are produced by AI models and can be incomplete or wrong. KwikQA checks proposals against its repair rules, applies a change only after you approve it, and validates applied changes by running your tests, but that doesn't guarantee a diagnosis is right or a change suits your code. In CI, a ci.fix policy you commit to your repository is that approval: KwikQA then applies a change only to the CI runner's own checkout, and delivers it as a draft pull request, which changes your code only if you merge it. You decide whether to apply or merge a change and remain responsible for the code in your repository. Similar input can produce similar output for other users; output isn't unique to you.

9. Bring-your-own-key plans

On BYOK and BYOK Team plans the CLI sends requests with your own OpenRouter key. Your use of OpenRouter and its model providers is governed by their terms and your OpenRouter account's settings, and OpenRouter bills you directly. The CLI reports each request's kind, model, provider, and test framework to KwikQA so it counts toward your plan.

10. Acceptable use

Don't use the service to:

  • break the law, or infringe anyone's rights, including by sending data you have no right to send;
  • attack, probe, or overload it, or access other people's accounts or data (report vulnerabilities as Security describes instead);
  • send malware, or content designed to make an AI model behave against its providers' policies;
  • resell or sublicense it, or offer it to others as a hosted or managed service;
  • build or train a competing product or service; or
  • use it where export control or sanctions laws forbid it.

Don't reverse engineer the hosted service except where the law allows it.

11. Suspension

We may suspend your access, or reject requests, if you breach these terms, if your use puts the service or other users at risk, or if the law requires it. Where reasonable, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. If we suspend a paid plan for a reason that isn't your breach, we'll refund the unused part of what you paid.

12. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available but don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or offer a service level agreement. It depends on providers such as Cloudflare, OpenRouter, and the AI model providers, which may be unavailable at times. We may change, improve, or discontinue features, and may stop supporting older versions of the command-line tool when the service changes. If we discontinue a paid plan, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice, and you can cancel before the change with a refund of the unused part of what you paid.

13. Ending the agreement

You can stop using KwikQA and delete your account at any time from the dashboard. We may end your access if you materially breach these terms and don't fix the breach after notice, or at once for a serious breach such as an attack on the service. Sections 7, 8, and 14 to 17 continue after the agreement ends.

14. Disclaimer

To the maximum extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and without any warranty that a diagnosis or repair will be correct or will make a test pass.

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for all claims about the service is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim and one hundred US dollars (USD 100). Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or any right you have as a consumer that can't be waived.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over disputes about them. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring a claim there. Before going to court, please email us; most problems can be solved that way.

17. Changes to these terms

We'll post changes here and update the effective date. For material changes we'll give you notice before they apply. If you keep using the service after they apply, you accept the new terms; if you don't accept them, you can cancel and delete your account.
